Dr. Brian Kaplan and Hephzibah Kaplan are London-based therapists who have worked with improvisation, art and humour in their extensive clinical work. Almost Happy emerged out of their creative collaboration thinking about archetypes and obstacles and the successful approaches they have used that could be shared with the general public for self-help and personal development.

Brian Kaplan, MD

Dr. Brian Kaplan qualified in medicine at the University of Witswatersrand in 1980. Since then he has trained and taught extensively in many areas of personal development including counselling, psychotherapy, Voice dialogue therapy, Autogenic Therapy, Balint Groups, Family Constellation Work, Psychodynamic Supervision and more. He has written regular blogs and been interviewed on Sky News, BBC Radio, LBC and more.

Hephzibah Kaplan

Hephzibah Kaplan is an artist, art therapist and psychotherapy supervisor. She has had an eclectic training in various therapeutic approaches and uses all the arts in her work with children and adults. In 2010 Hephzibah founded London Art Therapy Centre as a group practice and hub for arts therapies. Hephzibah has been running art therapy groups and workshops for the general public, professionals and the corporate sectors for many years and has taught in Germany, Greece, India, Israel, Japan, South Africa and the UK. Hephzibah has previously published and contributed to art therapy literature. This is her first book for the general public co-authored with her husband.
